Like all ministries of Grace UCC, we take a team approach for leading the congregation in our pursuit of God’s affirming love. The team meets as needed throughout the year to plan activities and events. Meetings are open to all! 

Education

We continue to educate ourselves and our community to become advocates for LGBT lives. In 2025, the Open and Affirming Team led a documentary discussion on 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture. We also attended an LGBTQ Safe Space training together. 

Stark Pride Festival

Since 2022, we have participated as an exhibitor in the festival that draws thousands of participants to Canton each year. Our goal is to share the abundant love of God with all we meet and publicly witness for an affirming Christian faith. 

Open and Affirming Sunday

Since 2024, we have re-affirmed our O&A covenant in worship once a year. Special guest speakers and topics are a part of this occasion. We belong to the Open and Affirming Coalition, a national ministry of the United Church of Christ.
